Everyone has heard of Zeng Zi’s famous saying in “The Analects of Confucius”, “My day and my body are three reflections,” which is a manifestation of strong metacognitive ability. The term metacognition was first proposed by John Flawell, the founder of American social cognitive psychology and a professor at Stanford University, in the book “Cognitive Development” in 1967.

When I used metacognition to monitor the whole process of parenting, I suddenly became enlightened. So I said to the child: “I’m a bit thirsty and want to go to drink tea. Would you like to help me?
